The material of the statue is fiberstone which is made of a mixture of sand and stones cast into the surface using terrazzo-like techniques. The surface is then sandblasted and chemically treated, followed by an acid stain to give the appearance of aged stone. Since it is reinforced with a fiberglass backing, it remains light-weight and less fragile than concrete. By mastering the art of casting products in fiberstone resin, the process manages to retain all the detail of the original with the added benefits of less weight (reduced shipping costs), greater strength, and a product suitable for outdoor use. 12 premium finishes are made for outdoor or indoor display.
